Senior Cat Given Second Chance At Forever Home After Being Rejected By Owner's Aggressive New Dog

We cannot imagine the mindset of someone who would get a new pet, see that it is causing trouble to the older pet, and decide they'll just... get rid of the older pet. Animals aren't toys. You don't just get to replace them with something new and shiny and throw the old one away. Not without judgment anyway. But- in those unfortunate situations where rehoming does seem like the only viable solution, the least we could hope for is that the new homes will offer the neglected pets a wonderful environment to be completely and utterly their adorable selves! 

And that is exactly the case in today's awwdorable Reddit thread featuring a senior cat who was ousted from his previous home after the adoption of a new doggo left the owner feeling like the situation just was not viable. A friend of the original poster quickly adopted the senior cutie and gave him a warm and loving furever home. It really warms our hearts.

Asked if I would take him in so he could be happy again. I've never had a cat but said yes to help. Turns out he's a cool dude and seems to be very happy and comfortable here

My senior cat had experienced SO much with me, I got her from the spca as a kitten. Floyd was with me through breakups, multiple moves, good times and bad. I had to fly her across provinces for one of the moves, she even had dogs move in with her (twice) and with time and work she learned to put up with them..I never considered giving her a

All cats are awesome but older cats even more so because they've usually mellowed out and just want to spend their time smothering you and purring.
